I found something a bit troublesome over the last few days. I have given up on Facebook and Instagram of late…simply because of the insane amount of censorship and the mind numbing banality of pointless updates. Sometimes, however, I do check-in on friends and family updates. When checking in last weekend, I noticed a new trend of uploading personal pictures and fantasy pictures created by Artificial Intelligence. Now don’t get me wrong… some of these “artistic” renderings are really creative and beautiful, but there’s also a dark undercurrent to these renderings as well. I’ll leave you with a simple exercise…..study these pictures and think about how you feel when you view them. Are we simply creating art or are we teaching machines how to replicate humans? Are we feeding the machine when we submit our pictures? What’s the endgame in all of this?
