On 22/2/2023, The Tony Blair Institute For Global Change published a document called “A New National Purpose: Innovation Can Power The Future Of Britain” It’s basically about how the UK should embrace the tech revolution and in particular through the use of Digital IDs.
Both Tony Blair (Labour) and William Hague (Conservative) collaborated on the document. Surely it must raise a red flag for many that two former opponents at the opposite ends of the political spectrum worked together on this. Both are WEF members.
In an interview given to the BBC, Hague said we need to “redesign the state around technology” whilst Blair added “Whether we like it or not, it is going to change everyone’s life”
Blair initially wanted a mandatory national ID card for everyone as far back as 2006. This was pointed out in a NYT article entitled “A Bit of Good News for Blair: ID Cards for Britons Advance.”
This has now progressed to a digital ID card. On 3rd September 2020 he appeared on BBC Newsnight saying he thought people would need a digital ID in the fight against the virus. That was even before any vaccine was on the market. The Tony Blair Institute For Global Change (TBIGC) has many interesting backers and partners, including the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) and The Rockefeller Foundation. BMGF has funded the Blair Institute in excess of $30m.
Like many companies TBIGC became very profitable during the pandemic. Looking at their 2021 accounts, the group turnover grew by $35.7 million (+79 per cent) from 2020. Who ever said pandemics aren’t profitable?
TBIGC proudly claim they work closely with governments and even speak of “building back better” in their financial accounts. Furthermore, most of all they don’t hide the fact that they “argued in favour of vaccine passports and Covid passes in the BMJ”
But what about “A New National Purpose: Innovation Can Power The Future Of Britain”? What can it tell us? Quite a lot about where Blair & his Institute want to take the British public. The word data is mentioned 81 times on 53 pages. Go figure. Blair sees technology as requiring “a whole of government effort and an updated operating model for the British state” and also says “This is not about size or outdated left and right debates.” In other words, both left and right are working together to achieve the global elite’s aims.
Throughout the document, the pandemic is referenced. It says “The success of the UK Vaccine Taskforce was made possible by exempting it from normal government processes”
In other words they did what they wanted to do. No processes were followed. Normally it takes years to bring a drug to market, yet they achieved it in record time. The exact same strategy will be used to try and exploit digital ID. Blair points to the UK as being the home of the Industrial Revolution. However, now he is referencing the World Economic Forum’s 4th Industrial Revolution when he mentions AI, biotech and climate tech. “The state has to change for this to happen.” Quite a statement.
But here is the real kernel of it all and how it is envisaged to work. To build the AI-era infrastructure you need a Digital ID as well as “a shift in the government’s approach to data” Blair wants the government to control you and your data.
AI is very much seen as being “transformative” but also changing how society functions transforming education, healthcare and transport. What he means is that people will become redundant in certain industries and jobless.
The report even cites an example of how AI can be used in educational settings. So don’t be surprised if children in future generations are taught by AI means. Fancy a robot in the classroom?
We have already witnessed the use of biotech in launching vaccines at warp speed. Biotechnology is at the heart of the fourth industrial revolution. When the report mentions “sequencing of the human genome and rewriting of the genetic code” then you know we are headed down a very dark path.
CRISPR technology is also touted as being central. It “allows DNA, the code of life, to be edited with precision.” CRISPR is heavily backed by Gates and is quite a frightening concept.
What else can biotech be used for? According to Blair “Synthetic organs grown in the lab”, “robotic keyhole surgery”, “produce biofuels efficiently without using large tracts of land”, “medical implants” and also “artificial lab-grown meat” sound a lot like a WEF manifesto.
Climate technology can also help us transition to a “low-carbon economy” in order to reach “decarbonisation targets”. In order to decarbonise you will need to reduce “oil and gas” especially in the home. This promotes the Green UN Agenda 2030 manifesto.
“The starting point” for moving forward is referred to twice by Blair. He suggests governments use “data and technology” but to do that you will have to “reinvent the state”. How is he intending to do that? Of course, by using a digital ID.
For the sake of completeness I have included in its entirety the section in the document on Digital IDs. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to work out what is going on. It is couched in the terminology of problem, reaction, solution. Digital ID will solve everything.
Probably the two most significant sentences in that section are “a properly functioning digital-ID system is the cornerstone of a digital-era public sector” and “accelerate the implementation of a single digital-ID system for all residents”. This is all about data and control.
In a quite stunning piece of writing in the section “Setting Global Standards for the Responsible Use of Technology” the document mentions technology can be used as a “tool of repression and authoritarianism” whilst at the same time saying that:
“The UK values human rights and democratic norms” Am I missing something here? This was the same Blair who in his 2021 accounts “argued in favour of vaccine passports and Covid passes in the BMJ”. A digital ID would be oppressive, authoritarian, and an abuse of human rights.
The reality is Blair and Hague’s document is a more updated version of the original Technocracy document from the 1930s called the Technocracy Study Course. This is where technocracy entered the public consciousness for the first time. What is technocracy? For Blair’s vision of Technocracy, Digital IDs & technology will be used to control society or industry by an elite of technical experts. Once you can read between the lines it’s easy to join the dots.
